About the Item
A wonderful depiction of an Italian landscape with a church in the distance by the country side. For this beautiful depiction, we find distinct attention to detail luring us down the pathway on this Italian scene. Among other things, this Italian artist is notable for his painting with the trends of the times. The result of this beautiful oil painting is one of provoking imagery and emotion in an impressionistic technique. This piece is signed by the artist lower right and it comes housed in a beautiful decorated gold tone wood frame with linen inner and is ready to hang with hanging wire on verso.

Eugen Ankelen was born in 1858 Laupheim, Germany and was a well-known German painter and writer of the late 19th-early 20th century. He studied at the Academies of Stuttgart and Munich in 1879-81. His works are displayed in the museums of Munich and Ludwigshafen. He died in 1942 Munich, Germany.
