Fine landscape painting, oil on canvas of Snowdonia Wales by 19th century British artist Thomas Huson. Signed by artist in lower left, Thomas Huson RI (Royal Institute of Oil Painters, elected 1883). This painting would then date from 1883, later 19th century to early 20th century. Huson exhibited his work in London extensively from 1871 including the Royal Academy, Suffolk Street Gallery, Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour, Royal Society of Painter Etchers, Royal Society of British Artists and the Grosvenor Gallery. Waterfall, water rapids, mountains and flock of sheep presented in original ornate gilt frame. In addition to oil paintings and watercolor, Huson is known for print-making and etching. He trained initially as a chemist, but soon turned to art-making. His work has been sold by Christie's, (2007). Presented ready to hang after previous restoration work, with patina on the gilt frame.

    The painting is ready to hang on the wall, in its period gilt frame. In the past there was restoration, visible verso. Patina and some wear consistent with age on the frame, but overall presents very well.
