Victor Papkov
'Sunset, San Francisco Bay', Impressionist Seascape, Russian American

Circa 1985

About the Item

Painted by Victor Papkov (Russian-American, 20th century); stamped, verso, with certification of authenticity and titled, 'San Francisco Sunset'. A dramatic Impressionist oil seascape showing late sunset off the San Francisco coast with the last glimmers of reflected sun in storm clouds above a turbulent ocean. In paintings filled with light and movement, and combining bravura brushwork with an intuitively sensitive palette, this modern master excels at capturing the intermingled alchemy of the elements.
