About the Item

Immerse yourself in the captivating world of Topher Straus, where a single image explodes into a mesmerizing dreamscape. "Beachtree" is a testament to Straus' innovative spirit and his ability to push the boundaries of traditional landscape art. This original piece is a captivating kaleidoscope, a central black and white image mirrored and repeated to create a mesmerizing spectacle. The mirrored sections burst forth in a vibrant spectrum of colors, capturing the essence of the original scene while infusing it with a dreamlike quality. Straus' use of color is both playful and evocative, drawing the viewer into a world that transcends reality. Split into four 40" x 40" panels, the kaleidoscope effect of this collage is uniquely highlighted. The black and white image at the center grounds the composition, providing a focal point amidst the swirling colors. The meticulous mirroring creates a sense of seamlessness, further enhancing the dreamlike atmosphere. Owning the Topher Straus "Beachtree" Original is more than acquiring a decoration; it's welcoming a conversation starter, a portal to a world brimming with artistic innovation. This one-of-a-kind piece is sure to captivate your guests and inspire wonder. The Process Artist Topher Straus starts his surrealist journeys by capturing moments that spark his imagination. These scenes, often serene landscapes, are transformed through his lens. Later, he manipulates the colors, emphasizing elements that fuel his vision. To achieve a captivating, dreamlike quality, Straus mirrors the image, creating a kaleidoscopic effect that shatters reality and reassembles it into a captivating dreamscape. When his digital masterpiece has reached completion, he entrusts it to skilled artisans. They utilize a cutting-edge sublimation process, which unlike traditional printing, no dots of color mar the surface; there’s only the flawless, vibrant artwork molecularly bonded with a sheet of aluminum. A protective resin shields the art and adds luminosity, then the sheet is seamlessly bonded to a brushed black aluminum frame, ensuring both strength and sleek modernity. This meticulous process imbues the final piece with an almost backlit quality, amplifying the vivid colors and igniting the viewer's gaze. Each finished artwork bears an individualized plaque of authenticity discreetly placed on its back. This elegant inscription details the title, size, edition number, and copyright notice, ensuring the work’s originality. About Topher Steeped in the Colorado outdoors from a young age, Topher found equal solace in exploring both nature's grandeur and the world of art. This duality imbues his work, echoing the Fauvist style of vibrant colors and abstraction, while centering on the natural world he champions. To him, art is not just an expression, but an invitation – a call to embrace the beauty that surrounds us, just as his brushstrokes capture it. Straus' journey to artistic expression was a tapestry woven from diverse threads. A lifetime of exploration, a decade collaborating with cinematic legend Robert Altman, and years honing his singular perspective culminated in his 2019 Denver solo exhibition. There, the art world embraced his vibrant landscapes, and success followed in exhibitions across the globe. His limited-edition works continue to fuel both his creative fire and philanthropic pursuits, proving that artistic passion, in his hands, nourishes humanity in myriad ways. Framing and Hanging Fabricated with a specialized process, this artwork arrives ready to elevate any space. The permanent frame ensures structural integrity, with an easy bracket instillation. The painting will easily slide onto the bracket when mounted to the wall, and a unique bolt installed at the bottom will lock the painting to the wall when turned. Discreetly attached rubber feet provide optimal stability when displayed against any surface. After hanging, the piece will proudly project one and a half inches from the wall, creating a captivating presence. Historically , newsstand magazines have used a standard set of practices when it came to choosing their cover image. Their goal was to use a image that people could instantly relate to. The idea being, if an image pops off the page it will attract more attention and then generate more newsstand sales. For editors, choosing a cover was first a marketing decision and then an aesthetic one. That is why most magazine covers and (that includes art magazines) pretty much looked the same. They used familiar images, mostly of celebrities, beauty people or news items of that would beckon and aggressively reach out to the prospect. In this Modern Photography Cover of August 1983, they chose a radical departure. Their cover image that was the opposite of the norm. Mitchell Funk’s Graphic Surreal Landscape...
