“No Vacancy” Artist Journal Entry:
"This artwork was one of the most challenging photographs I have had to produce. While creating a new collection of work in the Mojave desert, I had this concept in mind to capture a few cowboys posted up in an old motel lobby that had a 1970s feel to it. Vintage denim, dirty cowboy boots, and a room full of time-period-appropriate props, it was coming to life perfectly. While composing the photo there was something missing. When I looked outside as I gathered my thoughts, I began to smile while everyone else probably thought I was crazy. I wanted to stage a real horse with its head peeking through the open window as if he were greeting the cowboys. Horses always have quirky moments and are oftentimes amusing to watch. This was one of those times I really wanted to show off that personality. Carefully moving the horse into position, I had to wait for him to naturally peek his head in the window while his ears were forward. Luckily for me, the horse was as calm as can be but it was very difficult to capture a photo where everything was almost frozen. I was working with very limited lighting while shooting on a tripod so everything in the photo had to be still for the image to be sharp enough to print. After many failed attempts we finally nailed it. This was the last photo I captured on this roll of film."
About The Artist:
Beau Simmons has been a professional photographer since 2009. He grew up just outside Joshua Tree National Park, CA. He made a name for himself at 21 in the fashion photography industry working with clients including Marc Jacobs, 7 For All Mankind, Guess Jeans, and Converse. He was a go-to photographer for such agencies as Elite Models, IMG, and Ford Models. The fashion scene began to grind on Beau. Being a cowboy is in his blood. Beau captures his artwork exclusively on film using the lost art of medium and large format film photography. Taking inspiration from masters of film photography like Kurt Marcus and Steven Shore, Beau finds passion in capturing some of the forgotten lifestyles of our time. His body of work is a collection of memories captured predominantly throughout North America. His commitment to telling an authentic story also includes working with American veterans and is on full display in his first feature coffee table book, The Twenty-Year War, that he created with two combat veterans, one of whom is his childhood friend. Beau is based in North Carolina but can usually be found traveling the United States, working on various ranches while capturing the western lifestyle.

- The World Needs More Cowboys, Special EditionLocated in Miami, FL"The World Needs More Cowboys" Special Edition of 200 “The World Needs More Cowboys” Artist Journal Entry: "After working on a cattle ranch all day in west Texas, I gathered a few cowboys that I had been spending the past few days with and drove into the town of Alpine where this photo was created. I’ve had this vision for a while now and was waiting to find the perfect moment. This photo was taken just outside of a little bar in town about an hour shy of sunset. I walked in and spoke with the owner and asked if we could change the letters around on the old marquee sign out front. Without hesitation, he said absolutely and even shared some stories with us outside as we got everything set up. Growing up fascinated by cowboys and the western lifestyle, I looked up to these men and women who represented this culture. A culture dedicated to taking care of the land and its livestock no matter what. Caring for one another, enjoying a slower pace lifestyle with God and family at the forefront. Hard work, sacrifice, and humility are hard to come by. Putting everything above themselves in order to maintain a healthier life for others. A way of living we could all benefit from. In times like these, the world needs more cowboys." About The Artist: Beau Simmons...Category

Artwork is available in three sizes: 32 in. x 48 in. 40 in. x 60 in. 48 in. x 72 in. “Sunrise At The Sixes” Artist Journal Entry: "In December of 2022, I was invited to capture photos of the cowboys at the 6666 Ranch for their last branding of the year. The day before this photo was captured, we were working on a southern pasture in muddy conditions on a cold winter morning. All of the cowboys, including writer and creator of the television series Yellowstone, Taylor Sheridan, spent all day branding their last group of calves for the season. The following morning, I drove from the North Camp where I was staying and met with all the guys again in front of the iconic L Barn. Waiting for the sun to rise, we gathered horses and exchanged stories alongside a warm cup of coffee before finally setting up the composition I had in mind. I wanted to create an image that captures the spirit and bond between these men. An image that celebrates the hard work and selflessness that goes into maintaining the ranch, the land, and the livestock that feed from it. Lastly, an image that honors this historic ranch and those who have worked under its brand. I am honored to have been accepted to create this artwork alongside the cowboys at the 6666 Ranch in collaboration with Taylor Sheridan."
