Fernando Acevez
David Bowie at a Diego Rivera mural 1997

1997

About the Item

Signed limited edition print of David Bowie by Fernando Aceves. Location: Mexico City Date: October 1997 Before his Mexico City concert, David commissioned me to photograph him in front of various murals painted by 20th century Mexican artists, such as Rivera, Siqueiros and Orozco. This was for an article he was writing for the magazine ’Modern Painters’ - he is on the editorial board. During a visit to the ’Palacio de Bellas Artes’, Bowie stopped to study this mural by Diego Rivera. Suddenly his figure seemed to merge into the painting and I was able to confirm why he is also known as ’The Chameleon - Fernando Aceves Printed in Hahnemühle paper, signed and numbered in pencil by Fernando Acevez. • Kate Bush "Sensual World" - First print of the edition
    By Guido Harari
    Located in Austin, US
Kate Bush by Guido Harari, taken during the official photo shoot for her album The Sensual World in 1989. Guido Harari recalls, "I collaborated with Kate for over ten years, doing her official press photos for “Hounds of Love”, “The Sensual World”, “The Red Shoes” and on set photography for her film “The Line, The Cross & The Curve”. She wanted me to avoid the iconizing of previous shoots, and find a different way of capturing her more naturally. Shooting in the studio for hours allowed for much improvisation as there were to be no props or fancy sets. I used different techniques more to entertain ourselves rather than to experiment! And it worked!" First print...

    By Jake Chessum

Signed limited edition 20x24" print of Amy Winehouse taken in London by Jake Chessum in 2004. Limited edition number 2/15 Jake recalls the session: “I travelled from NYC to London in February 2004 to do a press shoot with Amy Winehouse. It was a classic February day: cold, wet, foggy and dark by about 4pm. We met at her flat and went to a few of her local haunts: a cafe, a launderette, Primrose Hill. The record company were very hands off and didn’t pressure us to do any particular set ups. We just went with the flow. She was really entertaining: funny, smart and cooly indiscreet. I am a huge jazz fan and I remember we talked about music, London and New York.” Jake grew...
