This photograph of Marilyn Monroe was shot by photographer, George Barris, in 1962 on Santa Monica Beach in California. Taken only two weeks before her death, this photograph is part of a series titled "The Last Photos".
This piece is numbered from the edition of 99 plus Artist Proofs and bears the Edward Weston Collection copyright stamp on the back of the photograph. It is hand signed by the artist on the front of the image.

George Barris
George Barris was born on June 14th, 1922, in Manhattan, New York City. When his brother bought him a box camera for his sixth birthday, he began a lifelong love affair with photography. In addition to his timeless work with Marilyn Monroe, Barris has captured unforgettable images of icons like Steve McQueen, Charlie Chaplin, Marlon Brando, Frank Sinatra, John Wayne, Clark Gable and Elizabeth Taylor.
