London: 1799. Copperplate stipple engraving with hand coloring in watercolor, 17 1/2 x 10 1/4 inches (445 x 260 mm) (sheet), full margins. In very good condition with some minor, light staining in the top margin, and very minor damage and small losses at the corners, well outside of the image area, and consistent with age. Lacking any text. Colors remain fresh.
From a volume of “Correct drawings of the Chinese in their respective habits and occupations, the itinerant mechanics and handicraftsmen in particular,” by the Englishman G.H. Mason, drawn from life by the Cantonese artist Pu-Qùa, and engraved by John Dadley.
