About the Item
Jean-Louis Ernest Meissonier (1815 - 1891) was a French Classicist painter and sculptor famous for his depictions of Napoleon, his armies and military themes.
Charles Courtry was a French engraver and etcher. A pupil of Léon Gaucherel and the etcher Leopold Flameng, he worked in Paris at the French Etching Club in 1875, and in London where he exhibited at the RA.
