Gerald Leslie Brockhurst (1890-1978) The Ideal Head (Portrait of Fabian) • Probably a Lithograph, sheet ca. 58 x 44 cm (v. thick paper/thin card) • Plate size ca. 41 x 31 cm • Image size ca. 36.5 x28 cm • Signed in pencil bottom right • Published by W. Rarely seen signed (prob. Lithographic) print after the painting ‘The ideal Head’ – A piece by G. L. Brockhurst which was held at point in time of printing in the collection of Otto Gutekunst. The print was published by W. J. Stacey, who was an London publisher up to 1930. Condition: The print was originally mounted and there are still traces of glue and paper left along the edges and on the back of the sheet. The bottom right corner has been bent and the crease has been strengthened with a strip with acid free paper tape on the back. All these various non-dramatic blemishes will end up hidden under a suitable future mount, with the image perfectly presented. I am Adrian Stuart Grond trading as ASGrond - Art & Antiques.
