Ziegler & Co. Furniture
In addition to workshops in Tabriz and Sultanabad (present-day Arak), Ziegler & Co. has brought the excellence of Persian rugs to a Western market through a base of operations in Manchester, England. Compared to rugs typically produced in Iran, Ziegler rugs and carpets — also referred to as Peshawar rugs or Chobi rugs — are famed for a softer palette and bolder patterns. These qualities have made Ziegler & Co.’s designs among the most sought-after styles of Persian rugs.
Versatile and traditional, Ziegler rugs have become the gold standard for natural floor coverings since the company was established over a century ago. Ziegler & Co. have set themselves apart by using vegetable-based dyes rather than chemical alternatives that mute the color tones as well as the highest quality Himalayan wool available.
The exceptional strength of Ziegler rugs comes from a high knot count, which extends their durability to surpass most other rugs while requiring minimal maintenance. Whether used as an accent piece or a focal point, a Ziegler rug elevates any room in sophistication. While adaptable to a range of spaces, some design collections lend themselves to specific interiors like the Four Seasons collection, which perfectly complements Spanish Colonial homes, or the San Ysidro collection, which offers a Mediterranean flair.

- What is a Peshawar Ziegler rug?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertMarch 22, 2022A Peshawar Ziegler rug is actually a misnomer. Ziegler rugs were floor coverings produced by Ziegler and Co., a German company with manufacturing facilities located in England during the 18th century. The company produced rugs with bordered floral patterns using weaving techniques its founder developed. People sometimes confuse Ziegler rugs with Peshawar rugs, which were handmade by Afghan weavers living in northwestern Pakistan. This is because Ziegler drew inspiration from the traditional patterns of Peshawar rugs. Shop a collection of Ziegler rugs on 1stDibs.
- Who is Tiffany and Co owned by?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertApril 5, 2022The legendary American luxury house Tiffany & Co. is currently owned by Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton (LVMH), which completed the acquisition of the company in January, 2021. - Why is Jacob & Co. so expensive?1 Answer1stDibs ExpertApril 22, 2024Jacob & Co. is so expensive for a few reasons. For one thing, many of the Swiss watchmaker's timepieces are complicated. One features more than 830 components, each of which must be produced or purchased, tested and painstakingly assembled by hand, adding to the cost. The materials that go into each watch, such as 18-karat gold and genuine diamonds, are costly as well.
