Christian Dior hand printed silk evening blouse. circa 1970s

About the Item

Dior is synonymous with excellence. The importance of the house’s history and cultural legacy invests a Dior garment with fashion that tells a story. Femininity, simplicity and good taste often start with the choice of the fabric. Here the featherweight silk organza that constructed this evening blouse is a perfect example of the opulent luxury of a Dior garment. Almost translucent, the material is decorated with an explosion of hand printed butterfly and floral motif enhanced with a gold filigree. The print design, an homage to Dior’s botanical influence emphasises the amazing shape and proportions of this delicate piece. Featuring a boat neckline, long sleeves adorned with ruffles and a tie sash on the side. Only the bodice is lined with a silk-like material to leave the sleeves transparent and sensual.
