Emanuel Ungaro Brown Zebra Print Ivory Fur Collar Jacket

About the Item

One of the most notable French designers of the 1960s alongside the likes of Cardin and Courregès, Emanuel Ungaro stood out with his loud color combinations and eccentric prints. While his designs are often lively, they take after a school of minimalist thought and tend to be practical, functional, and excellently crafted. Such is the case with this beautiful zebra motif jacket. Constructed from goat skin, the jacket features a zebra print in rich hues of ivory and chocolate brown. The luxurious, oversized ivory fox fur collar sits high around the neck before continuing down the front opening, enhancing the cocoon like effect of this jacket while offering a nice contrast of texture. Size estimate: Medium Size: 38 FR Measurements: Shoulders: 20 inches Sleeves: 20 inches Bust & Waist: 40 inches Hem: 42 inches Length: 22 inches The jacket falls from unstructured shoulders to a chic length at the hips, while the wide, slightly flared long sleeves add a note of sophisticated drama. A Fall/Winter wardrobe must have, this gorgeous jacket will make an entrance no matter the occasion and can easily be styled with a gown or as part of an ensemble look. This Emanuel Ungaro jacket is lined in brown silk with a cheerful print of ivory and pastel-colored circles. In excellent condition, it hangs open with no closures and has been professionally eco-dry cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.

  • I Magnin & Co. Blue Silk velvet Evening Cape Coat, 1930s
    By I Magnin and Co
    Located in Boca Raton, FL
From as early as the late 1910s, the trend of Orientalism was all the rage in the Western fashion scene. With various styles, the mid-to-late 1920s saw the rise in the popularity of chinoiserie blue derived from the artistic decorations of Chinese porcelains. This rich color trend graced the designs of haute couture designers such as Lucien Lelong and became widely available to the upper-class masses. From the former San Francisco based department store, I. Magnin, this 1930s evening cape is a vintage treasure that captures its time. Done in a rich blue silk velvet, the cape is multi-tiered coming down to knee level with two heavily flounced tiers that encircle the torso that cover the arms acting as sleeves. The sumptuous layering of the silk velvet pairs with a mock shawl collar that creates a regal aura to this design. This cape is an excellent vintage outerwear...
