Silvered Bronze Tibetan Tsongkhapa Statue
About the Item
A fine silver bronze statue of the Tibetan teacher Tsongkhapa. Je Tshongkhapa is the teacher of Tibetan Buddhism whose activities formed the Gelug school of Tibetan Buddhism. He is believed to be the reincarnation of God of wisdom. The statue depicts the teacher seated in dhyanasana on a waisted double lotus base, flanked by books and flowers. He wears a long robe that pools around his legs folding neatly to reveal his feet. A pointed hat covers his hair below which a face showing great sympathy and benevolence.
