Meiji period Japanese Indigo double ikat futon cover
Japanese futon cover, a double ikat pattern in four panels depicting Kumamoto Castle with images of the fufu (good fortune) character in the upper corners, a very special type of textile from Kurume in Kyushu. Three minor repairs and one minor stain, otherwise fine condition. Measures: 66" high x 48" wide. Meiji period, circa 1890.
