Wrought Iron Gate, After Edgar Brandt
About the Item
EDGAR BRANDT (1880-1960) Les Bouquets, infime variante du modèle présenté à l’Exposition Internationale, Paris, 1925 puis au XVIe Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, Paris, 1926 Exceptionnelle paire de grilles d’intérieur en fer forgé patiné et, en partie, doré. Chaque vantail présente une partie simulant un dormant et des encadrements frangés. Les motifs de palmettes sont déclinés en plusieurs dimensions et ornent de grandes volutes aux profils frangés et somment les parties latérales. Les bouquets stylisés dorés forment les décors centraux. Chaque partie centrale est sommée d’un rang de sphères facettées et dorées. Complète de ses dormants à gonds. Vers 1925. Manque une petite palmette en partie basse de l’un des grilles, oxydations.

EDGAR BRANDT (1880-1960) Les Bouquets, a tiny variant of the model presented at the International Exhibition, Paris, 1925 then at the XVIth Salon des Artistes Décorateurs, Paris, 1926 Exceptional pair of interior grilles in patinated wrought iron and, partly, Golden. Each leaf has a part simulating a frame and fringed frames. The palmette motifs are available in several sizes and adorn large scrolls with fringed profiles and crown the side parts. The stylized golden bouquets form the central decorations. Each central part is topped with a row of faceted and gilded spheres. Complete with its hinged frames. Circa 1925. Missing a small palmette in the lower part of one of the grids, oxidations.
