An Irish Antique Regency Period Marble Fireplace Mantel

About the Item

A well drawn and proportioned early 19th century antique Irish fireplace from the Regency period. The pilaster jambs with cushion mould panels to front, with conforming detail on brackets. The large fielded panelled tablet with cushion moulded panels either side. All beneath a simple plain shelf. Carved in a certain strain of Italian Carrara marble commonly referred to as "Old English" as it was used predominantly in the late 18th , early 19th centuries. A very nice example of this style of Irish Georgian fireplace. Opening sizes Opening size 97.5cm w X 101.5cm h
