English Wedgwood Black Basalt and Gold Jewelry Dish Neoclassical Revival

A rare English Jasperware matte black basalt and gold dish in the Neoclassical Revival style, by Wedgwood, England, circa late-20th century. A beautiful small piece with a gold raised relief of two alligators or crocodiles and an urn on a stand. Dish works as a standalone piece, for small jewelry (as demonstrated), or other small items. With maker's mark on bottom, 'Wedgwood', 'England', as shown in last two images. Made in England. Dimensions: 4.38" Diameter French box shown has sold.
