Hand Blown Murano Glass Box in Onyx Black with Murine Detailing
About the Item
This sophisticated modernist decorative box was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a volumetric rectangular body with a translucent Murano glass exterior and a onyx glass interior. The black form within appears almost like a cloud like sphere full of dramatic murines, imbuing it with a rich dynamism. The lips of the box- where the top and bottom- adjoin are finished with a rectilinear polished chrome border which offers a beautiful compliment to the black tones of the glass and testifies to the fact that no detail (no matter how minute) was overlooked in their fastidious construction. With its clean modernist lines, exquisite Murano glass, and monochromatic color palate, this box is as much a functional vessel ideal for presenting small keepsakes, as an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces.
