19th Century Louis Philippe French Mantel Clock, 1830s

About the Item

Fantastic and important mantel clock, signed C. Detouche Bte, 160 Rue. St Martin. Paris, France, circa 1830-1835. Constantin-Louis Detouche (1810-1889) born in Paris on 10th October 1810, he was the son of clockmaker Georges Detouche. He ran his father’s business until 1830 when he moved to 158-160 rue St. Martin. Clock mechanism to anchor, untested function. Present pendulum and key. Small parts are missing and the statue of the girl is to be tightened Incredible bronze fusion and excellent quality of chisel. Depicting Maiden.
