Gilt bronze and patina
Omerth's life dates are not known in literature. He was a student of the sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, was active as an artist from 1895 to 1925 and exhibited in the salons of the Société des Artistes Français in Paris.
Omerth made numerous figures and statuettes of children, women and men in the classical, Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles, most for the Éditeur d'art (art publisher) and sculptor Edmond Etling. He used materials such as bronze, chryselephantine, ivory, zinc and bisque.
