About the Item

American studio craft movement abstract carved wood sculpture. Minimalistic bust ( head and neck ) set into free form rough cut beautifully figured wood base. Attributed to well renowned American artist sculptor Margery Goldberg ( b. 1950 ) founder of the Zenith Gallery, Washington, D.C. No apparent signture. Circa 1970-1980.     Wear consistent with age and use. very good vintage condition beautifully aged color. area wood loss to top back of head. larger in size and scale than it presents in our photos. possibly a piece from the school for american craftsmen at rochester institute of technology.
