About the Item
This lovely and dynamic 3 part bronze sculpture by Venezuelan sculptor Abigail Varela is not only a maquette for a larger outdoor 12 foot garden sculpture entitled" Equilibrista Con Luna "but also an original only maquette. The outdoor sculpture had to be altered because the cantilevered bodies in the maquette could not be achieved in the larger size. Mr. Varela is a visual artist. He was born in Venezuela in 1948.It is as if the female figures are teetering on a spin of a form of a bike; which is a balancing act and it is cantilevered.It rotates as one figure faces one way and the other faces another way.It consists of two female figures and a base.The base is 3.5" H x 10.75" Square. The bottom figure is 13" H x 4.5" W and the top figure is 9" H x 4" W.
