Glazed porcelain figurine by Ludwig Gies ( 1887-1966 ). Design from 1926. Executed by State Porcelain Manufacture Berlin ( KPM ). Reliefed surface. Reverse side marked: Sceptre mark for KPM factory. Dimensions: Height 13.58 in ( 34,5 cm ), Width 15.75 in ( 40 cm ), Depth 4.33 in ( 11 cm ) Moon Sheep was inspired by Christian Morgenstern's poem of the same name. Literature: Bröhan-Museum, Berliner Porzellan vom Jugendstil zum Funktionalismus 1889-1939, Page 201.
