Zaccagnini's signature adorns the underside of the base, a testament to the artist's skill and craftsmanship. Founded in 1905 by Ugo Zaccagnini, a former plaster modeler at Ginori di Doccia, Ugo Zaccagnini & Figli specialized in classical ceramics, with his sons Pietro, Urbano, and Prisco, along with daughters Adele and Enrichetta, joining the family business. By 1912, the company relocated to Florence, establishing itself as a prominent presence in the city's artisanal showcases. In 1928, Zaccagnini acquired an industrial building in Via Monte Oliveto, marking a new phase in the company's history. Collaborations with renowned artists like L. Contini and Fosco Martini enriched their repertoire, producing decorative pieces and tableware. Following Ugo's passing in 1937, the business transformed into "Società Ceramiche Zaccagnini," led by Urbano and creatively directed by Prisco. With Aristide Loria's investment, the company expanded its production and export markets, showcasing its work at prestigious events like the VII Milan Triennial in 1940. Zaccagnini's legacy endures as a symbol of Italian craftsmanship and artistic innovation.
