About the Item
The graphic artist Delia Ruiz Malo challenged 40Plumas to create a glass sculpture inspired by her illustrations. They immediately fell in love with her work “Colorful Fish” and decided to work on a detail of warm tones. Giving the image the transparency of glass did not seem to be enough, instead they wanted to gave it volume and played with the light by alternating matt and glossy surfaces to recreate its graphic lines in low relief.
About 40Plumas
“40plumas” was born as an art studio where Bianca Rebagliati y Daniel Orquín constantly search and play with the material to overcome the limits of their knowledge. Experts in the hot and cold techniques of artistic glass, they mix and compose new working methods that allow them to express themselves. From this passion and dedication emerges the dialogue with other artists, architects and designers, to address the need of their diverse specific projects. Creativity, technique and experimentation work in unison towards original results.
