About the Item
Rare and important French Art Deco ceramic sculpture by Marcel Renard (1893-1974), circa 1920s of a woman modeled in robes with a baby. Made of earthenware with a soft crackled glaze this fabulous Art Deco find is in beautiful condition!
Reynard's work was shown in 1925 at the International Exhibition in Paris by the Salon des Artistes Decorateurs. In addition his work can be also found in the collections of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and Design Museum Gent in Belgium and private collections worldwide. Impressed signature, Marcel Renard, Fau et Guyard (maker), Boulogne, Made in France.
