Genuine Calcified Ammonite on Matrix Opalized (4.2 lbs)
About the Item
A beautiful, fossilized and calcified ammonite shell with an iridescent, opalized shimmer, displaying hints of vibrant red and yellow tones. This specimen displays multiple complete ammonites in a clustered form, each having a dendritic crystal pattern. This piece has been hand polished. *You will receive the exact object as in these photos. The fossilized shells of Ammonites are typically spiral-shaped, very much like that of the Nautilus. However, around 170 million years ago, these squid-like creatures began to build their shells in exotic, highly variable shapes. The species pictured here is Ancyloceras vandenheckii, which is typically found in Madagascar.
