Vintage Chinese Temple Jar Imari Qianlong Style

About the Item

A large vintage Chinese temple jar, handcrafted in China during the 1980s. Hand-decorated and enameled with an Imari-style design, inspired by Qianlong-era porcelain. The jar's body is finely embellished and hand-painted with a sea of underglaze red peony blooms, connected by spirals of iron-red tendrils, set against a dark midnight blue enamel glaze. Each peony is meticulously highlighted with fine lines of gold, bringing the natural details of the flowers to life. Measuring 19 cm in diameter and 33 cm in height, this striking piece offers a modern interpretation of classic Imari porcelain from the Qianlong era. It remains in good condition for its age and use, though there is some minor damage to the finial of the lid, where the glaze has cracked, or the finial has come loose and been re-glued. Despite this, the temple jar remains a beautiful example of vintage Chinese porcelain.
