Extraordinary Pair of Blown Glass Vortex Vessels by Jeff Holmwood

About the Item

Two sought after very large impressive and beautiful blown glass vessels by Canadian artist Jeff Holmwood, purchased at the Museum of Glass in Tacoma Washington. Holmwood's signature series, the one for which he is known best, is his blown glass Vortex Vessel. In this technically challenging and visually dramatic series, he integrates an elegant form with a complex surface design that results in a unique vortex pattern on each piece. Priced as a pair, but will sell individually. Smaller vessel is 23 H 10 W 10 D. Holmwood attended the University of Calgary where he studied English, then followed his true calling as an artist and studied glass at the Alberta College of Art and Design. He has taught glass at three of the world’s most respected glass schools: Pilchuck Glass School founded by Dale Chihuly, Washington; Penland Craft School, North Carolina; and the Red Deer College, Alberta.
