Italian Cantagalli polychrome majolica vase, late 19th century During the 19th century Renaissance-Revival period the Cantagalli Majolica and ceramic factory near Florence produced authentic copies of various period objects including the Renaissance Majolica using traditional methods of tin glazing earthenware. This Cantagalli Vase is dateble toward the end of the 19th Century. It represents a typical Palermo (Sicily) Vase of the XVII Century " Decorato a Trofei" " Decorated with Trophies". With one central medallion in the front of the vase representing an Angel walking on clouds. At the back of the vase above a winged Lion the script SPQF " Senatus Populusque Firenze" is to identify the factory provenance.
