Jean Garillon for Céramiques Elchinger Zodiac Constellation Globe Vase, France

About the Item

Jean Garillon Ceramique Art Deco Zodiac Constellation Globe Vase, France. Jean Xavier Ernest Elchinger known as Jean Garillon (1898-1981), has a special place in the dynasty of Ceramists Elchinger. Nephew of Léon Elchinger, he will mixed the traditional know-how of the potters of Soufflenheim with the modernity of the Art Deco trend. This globe vase is an outstanding work by the artist, with its classical form and the modern, stylized and multicolored astronomical ornamentation. "Céramiques Elchinger" was a family business established in Soufflenheim in Alsace, France in 1834.
