Large Antique English Morley & Ashworth 'Mason's' Ironstone Pottery Angel Vase
About the Item
Rare, antique, large 19th century exhibition ironstone pottery vase by Morley & Ashworth, for the 1862 International Exhibition.
Morley & Ashworth had taken over the designs of Mason's Ironstone, after the pottery had fallen into bankruptcy.
The vase having a gilded top with twin handles modeled as dolphins/sea serpents, the blue ground decorated with scrolling gilded foliate. To the center of the vase is a winged angel holding two of the foliate vines. Condition is good, there are no chips, cracks or restoration.
