Large Shipibo-Conibo Enormous Vessel

About the Item

The Shipibo people live along the Upper Amazon. The polychrome slip painted pottery is created primarily by female artists The artists inspiration is aided by covering the eyelids with the thin-veined Iponquene plant. The designs originally came from the hallucinogenic vision of shamans brought about by the use of Nishi This coil-built vessel is as good as it gets.
