Phil Rogers Studio Pottery Salt Glazed Unomi with Impressed Panels
About the Item
A stylish Marston Pottery salt glazed stoneware studio pottery unomi by renowned potter Philip (Phil) Rogers (British, b.1951) dating from the latter 20th century. The heavily potted unomi stands raised on a narrow round foot with recessed base and decorated in a clear speckled salt galzed finish. The cylindrical shaped body has a raised central ridge running around the body and is applied with impressed ‘window’ design panels repeated around the body to either side of the central ridge. The vase is decorated in a thick green tinted salt glaze with darkened elements where the glaze has gathered and also to the inside of the unomi. The unomi has a very clear impressed personal seal mark to the lower edge.
