About the Item
Melting Ice art glass vase by Vladislav Urban for Sklo Union Rosice, Rudolfova Hut glassworks in Czechoslovakia - part of the Sklo Union group, Czech Republic 1968
The designers of Sklo Union were inspired by simple geometric forms arranged on the glass to catch and reflect the light in a modern way.
This design based on a softened square with slightly curved sides and a series of soft projections arranged on all sides of the vase to create a light-pattern that changes according to the angle of the viewer and gives the visual impression of melting ice.
The vase looks stunning as an ornament in its own right, or filled with flowers, this timeless piece will bring an iconic mid century style to any home.
A striking, classic mid century modern piece, it stands approximately 250mm tall, 95mm deep and 95mm wide.
The piece is in lovely vintage condition with no chips or cracks, just very gentle signs of use. Please see the photos which give an accurate idea of its condition.
