Verlys French Art Deco Stylized Bird Wing Brown Tinted Art Glass Vase
About the Item
A stunning quality French Art Deco brown tinted art glass vase molded with a bird wing design by renowned glass makers Verlys and dating from the 1930’s. Of rounded bulbous shape the vase stands on a narrow rounded flat foot with a polished recessed pontil and has a wonderful brown tint. The vase has a raised narrow rounded top and is applied in relief with raised ‘bird wing’ like designs around the upper body with etched patterning in duller contrasting tones. A formal patterned etched low relief band is applied around the lower body and the vase is not marked.
An exceptional example offered in good condition with customary age wear to the foot.
