Very rare ceramic figurine around 1930:
Young, graceful dancer in a butterfly costume, posing: her arms raised and her head tilted to the side, performing a slight turning movement, the fabric falling from her sleeves decorated in the style of a peacock's eye in red, blue and yellow.
On a black, stepped and curved round base.
Designed by Josef LORENZL (1892 - 1950), was an Austrian sculptor and ceramic modeler. His bronze statuettes often show graceful dancers with long legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl designed numerous ceramics for Friedrich Goldscheider and Keramos and was one of the most popular artists of Art Deco.
This Model 6206 was created circa 1929.

Josef Lorenzl
Josef Lorenzl was born in Vienna on 1st September 1892. He started out working at the Vienna Arsenal in the foundry, where he learned the techniques of bronze casting. Working from a studio in the company’s grounds, he was able to produce many bronze and chryselephantine sculptures. Lorenzl was captivated by the female form he became well known for his shapely dancing girls with long, elegant legs and closed eyes. Lorenzl also was a gifted ceramicist, producing pieces for Goldscheider.
