Minton Majolica Platter with Lattice Work and Daisy Chain Border, Dated 1880

Minton Majolica platter, molded in high relief with a central medallion of leaves and a daisy, surrounded by basketweave latticework, with a continuous chain of daisies forming the border, impressed marks to reverse, 'MINTONS' and Minton date cypher for 1880, with impressed design number, '875,' which corresponds to the entry 'Stand with Daisy Border, Basket Weave and Leaf Decoration (M)' in the Minton Majolica Ornamental Shape Numbers in the Minton Archives, Minton Museum, and reprinted in Joan Jones.* For thirty years, we have been among the world's preeminent specialists in fine antique majolica.
