Figure: Running Girl, Bow Porcelain Factory, circa 1756
About the Item
Small figure of a young woman wearing a puce-sprigged white skirt, lifted slightly with her left hand, pale pink jacket with typical Bow opaque blue collar and cuffs.
We've called her 'Running Girl', but she could just as easily be dancing. The discovery of a pair might make this certain. We do know Bow produced a similar figure decorated with playing cards, intended as Columbine, who was certainly intended to be a dancer.
