The details are stunningly sculptured = finest modelling!
Design:
Michel Victor Acier (1736-1799) / model C 47 created 1768-1770
The sculptor was born at Versailles / France. He had studied Art of Sculpture in Paris and was appointed as sculptor of Meissen Porcelain Manufactory then (1762). Acier created many models generally in style of Rococo and specially in Watteau style.
Finally, the sculptor became Model Master of the Saxon King in year 1780, moving to Dresden then.
Made circa 1870

-- Two winged cherubs - one having sat down, the other one stands upright, supporting itself on a tree's stump - hold items in hands which refer to geometry: Square and circle as well as a round shaded item laid on ground which has to be used
for drawing a circle. Additionally, the cherub standing upright holds a stick in right hand - the putto is blinking in order to concentrate on measuring whereas a globe is visible behind the figurine: Geometry is a branch of mathematics concerned with
questions of shape, size, relative position of figures and the properties of space.
-- The figurine group here is attached to oval rocky base with golden painted border at edge (= decorated with pattern of wavy type).
