Wedgwood 'Dancing Hours' Black Jasper Centrepiece Bowl

About the Item

A fine black jasper-ware bowl crafted by Wedgwood in a design known as the 'Dancing Hours'. The black basalt wash over white jasper piece dates to the 1950s and has been handmade in England. The design dates to the 18th century by John Flaxman (1755-1826) who worked for the company whilst Josiah Wedgwood was still alive and was the creator of many well-known designs which are still being produced. The piece has some very minor signs of wear and use, however is in very good condition for a piece with such intricate detailing. This striking bowl would be a beautiful addition to a kitchen bench filled with waxy green apples. Measures - 26cm W x 11cm H
