Original Royal Castle Sheffield 1930 British Art Deco Lighthouse Cocktail Drink

About the Item

Art-Deco Cocktail Shaker in the shape of a lighthouse. Very decorative and unusual piece made in Sheffield, United Kingdom, during the late deco period, circa 1930. This cocktail drinks shaker was crafted in the shape of a lighthouse and all the the three-parts are in working condition. This cocktail shaker or Martini shaker for those who like it “shake, not stirred”, this piece is silver-electroplated and equipped with a removable top and strainer. This model is based on the Boston Lighthouse, the first lighthouse to be built in America. It was raised to the ground by the English in 1776 and then re-built in 1783. This model was made in two sizes, like this 14.5 inches and the larger measuring 20 inches high. Measures: Have a total height measure of 356 mm (14 Inches) and a diameter in the base of 133 mm (5.25 Inches). Hallmarks: Stamped in the underneath, with the maker's mark and signed, "ROYAL CASTLE SHEFFIELD EP"; Note: This is the original made in the 1930's, do not mistake with the ones made in later periods.
