About the Item
An exceptional, fine and impressive pair of vintage George VI English 9-karat yellow gold napkin rings - boxed; part of our dining silverware collection
These exceptional vintage English 9k yellow gold napkin rings have an octagonal shaped form.
The surface of these vintage napkin rings are plain and individually embellished to one panel with the contemporary engraved initials 'E.E' and 'E.F'.
Each napkin ring features the contemporary engraved date 'June 19th 1940' to the interior surface.
These exceptional napkin rings are fitted to the original hinged leatherette presentation box with satin and velvet lined interior, securing with a push fit catch.
The interior of the cover bears the retailer's mark 'Charles Packer & Co. Ltd, 76 Regent St, London, W.'.
Such fine examples, crafted in 9-karat yellow gold, are becoming increasingly difficult to locate.
These impressive napkin rings are crafted by the renowned London silversmith Richard Comyns of William Comyns & Sons Ltd.
Condition
These boxed vintage gold napkin rings are an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition. The interior cover of the box bears some staining in keeping with age, but can be considered to be in excellent presentation condition. Full British hallmarks struck to the surface of each napkin ring are very clear.

The pieces of this exceptional vintage George VI silver flatware service for 12 persons have been crafted in the Plain Pine pattern. The plain tapering handle of each piece is embellished with Art Deco style geometric panelled decoration with a stepped-down top. The posterior surface of each handle is ornamented with a triangular panel to the terminal. The original sterling silver forks have three tines/prongs; this is a fine feature of the service. This vintage Art Deco flatware set consists of 43 pieces: The components of this service have been crafted by the Sheffield silversmith and flatware maker Ollivant & Botsford Ltd between 1937-1941; the pieces will have been crafted in less years but due to the hallmarking system the items are struck with the date letters u and y. This impressive canteen of cutlery is fitted to the original, fine and impressive oak three draw canteen table; this is an impressive piece of furniture in its own right. The table is fitted with a pair of Art Deco style gilt metal handles to each drawer, in addition to plain escutcheons. This exceptional cutlery table is supported by four plain legs with tapering knopped feet.
