1880 Longwy Aesthetic Movement, Eastlake Converted Gas Newel Post Table Lamp

About the Item

Stunning original 1880s converted gas newel post. This is the largest we have ever had in over 40 years as an antique lighting dealer. Original porcelain inserts are attributed to Longwy base on the pattern and cloisonne technique. Colours are vibrant and there are no chips in any of the porcelain inserts. Castings are very fine lost wax castings with the floral metal work on base in a stylized Eastlake/Aesthetic movement pattern. Shade is an original 1880s deep acid etched crown top gas shade with a 5" fitter. Light has been converted and wired. Can be converted to fit on newel post upon request.
