Bauhaus style Zirax table lamp by Schneider & Co, Germany, circa 1930s

About the Item

Zirax table or desk lamp manufactured by Dr. Ing. Schneider & Co, Frankfurt. Typical Bauhaus lamp from the 1930s. Dr. Ing. Schneider & Co was founded in 1911 in Frankfurt am Main, by the brothers John J. Schneider Carl August Schneider and the engineer Rudolf Naujoks. They produced exceptional quality lighting products under many brand names including Zirax, Horax, Fabrilux, Sun, Disco (abbreviation for Dr. Ing. Schneider & Co.) and Schneider. Arm and shade are adjustable. The enamelled lampshade is in excellent state. The cast-iron base comes in original paint. Rewired, the original On/Off switch on the shade has been replaced by a foot switch. Takes E27 fitting bulbs. Works on 220v as well as 110v. Plug can be replaced by US-version free of charge.
