About the Item
Playing with the composition of simple forms and pure natural materials, the Composition light is a simple narrative of light, structures and textures. Using standardised aluminium tubes and offcut marble, the production produces little to no waste. The Composition Light is designed by Theodora Alfredsdottir for the Icelandic brand FÓLK Reykjavík.
Touch function dimmer: 10% - 50% - 100% light.
Replaceable transformer.

Theodora Alfredsdottir
With roots in Iceland, a community with a population of 380.000, but living in amongst 9.000.000 others in London, Theodora Alfredsdottir finds herself looking for the individual within the mass throughout her work. She believes that good design is a window into the process of creating objects, in order to give the user a better understanding of what goes into bringing an object into this world, to encourage responsible consumption. The object, therefore, acts as a documentation of its manufacturing process; a record of what went on between the machine, tools, craftsman and material. Each and every product is a three-dimensional collage using shapes from Theodora’s collection of compositions of geometric shapes.
