Italian Alfredo Barbini 'Medusa' Table Lamp Scavo Glass Venini 1960s
About the Item
Unique large "Medusa" Murano art glass table lamp created in Scavo technique designed and executed by Italian artist Alfredo Barbini, Murano, Italy 1960s. This exceptional mushroom table lamp has a dome shaped lampshade made of handcrafted Murano/scavo art glass combined with metal structural parts. It has one E27 fitting. Wiring and switch are in full working condition and ready to use. Excellent overall original condition. This lamp emits a stunning diffuse light through the unique shade.

Alfredo Barbini
Alfredo Barbini (1912–2007), a glass artist born in 1912 on the islands of Murano in the lagoon of Venice, Italy, was one of Murano's leading figures of the 20th century. His parents were members of families, which had been prominent in the glassmaking industry on Murano for generations as glassblowers and beadmakers.
