Kolo(man) Moser desc lamp Handhammered brass, silver-plated, Glasstubes

About the Item

In the year the Wiener Werkstätte was founded, Kolo Moser designed several table lamps, including four that resemble each other due to their dome-shaped covers. The lamps are recorded in the WW calculation volumes under production numbers 88 to 90 and are therefore among the earliest metal objects sold by WW. Only two of the originals are known, one without a side switch for the Flöge fashion salon and one with a side switch for the Stonborough-Wittgenstein household. We have "Related Products" which are not as elaborated as this fixture to a way lower price. The lamp has cubistic elements in the design and if one consider, that the term Cubism was first used from 1906, the importance of this design from 1903 must be highly esteemed.
