About the Item

A gorgeous handcrafted heavy and highest quality table lamp by the renowned and famous french company Maison Charles, Paris, France, circa 1970s. Made of gilt and solid hand-cast and carved bronze with a seamless spun brass shade with finial fitting. The Pomegranate, leaves and stem are all hand cast individually and set on the hand cast stepped Bronze plinth. The amazing table lamp has three french fittings and takes three bajonet bulbs to illuminate. Wiring and switch are perfect so all is fine working and ready to use. As with all Maison Charles sculptural lamp bases the fittings are pointing down to illuminate the hand-cast and carved sculptural centre. Finished in a combination of alternating polished gold bronze and bronze with a stunning patinated bronze brass seamless spun Empire shade with hand tooled trim lines at the top and bottom. The beautiful classical table lamp which is 72 cm / 28.35 inches tall and which has a width of 36 cm / 14.17 inches, is signed at the base Charles and Made in France. It was designed by Christiane Charles and is one of her iconic table lamps of that period, in very good to excellent original vintage condition, minor typical and characteristic wear consistent with age and use. This is an elegant and noble statement piece and a perfect match in a Gabriella Crespi or Maria Pergay design interior.
